Methodological orientation note
The document provides general information about the project, important dates and methodological guidelines for the development of local case studies and action-oriented research agendas. It also describes the monitoring and evaluation process using the outcome journal. It describes the dimensions of analysis that had to be considered in the local documents (Case Study, Local Agendas) and includes a box of participatory instruments for local processes of action-oriented research with a gender-based approach.

Situation and comparative analysis of the social organizations of farmers
The document presents a situation analysis based on the comparison of eight formal and non-formal organizations (associations, cooperatives, networks and platforms) of urban and peri-urban agricultural producers from Latin America and Europe .

Chapter 1 describes the national and local contexts in which the experiences have been developed, chapter 2 presents a profile of the agricultural producers while chapter 3 presents the profiles of the social organizations of urban and peri-urban agricultural producers studied. Based on this analysis, chapter 4 describes the main management models used by the organizations to access resources and influence public policy. Chapter 5 presents a typology of social organizations of urban and peri-urban agricultural producers. Chapter 6 includes an analysis of the main results achieved by the organizations in terms of establishing alliances and developing successful strategies. Finally, chapter 7 presents the main results achieved by the organizations and their members in terms of access to resources and political influence, while chapter 8 presents the main findings and conclusions of the comparative study.

Inter-regional action-oriented research agenda
It describes the lessons learned, recommendations and proposals for action-oriented research elaborated by the local teams, based on the analysis of the different management models chose by the organizations to obtain resources and influence policies. In this agenda we identify the main challenges faced and include a group of guidelines or recommendations to strengthen the organizations.

Report of the inter-regional exchange of producers
This report presents the background, objectives, activities and results achieved during the exchange of producers held in The Netherlands in September 2005. It also includes a list of participants, follow-up recommendations, lessons learned and suggestions for future producers' exchanges.
