On September 2005, as part of the project activities, an inter-regional exchange took place. This allowed representatives from urban farmers organizations in Latin America and Eastern Europe to visit two organizations in the Netherlands (BVV and Duinboeren) and share experiences.
The main objective of this activity was to facilitate information sharing between the organizations partaking in the project. This in turn, would strengthen

their management capacities and their ability to establish relations with consumer groups, lobby and participate in public matters while allowing them to identify key elements to be considered in the interregional agenda for action oriented research.
The interchange did not intend to compare the organizations experiences because of their different backgrounds: some are in the process of formalizing (Red de Huerteros de Rosario) while others are over 100 years old (BVV), some are more dynamic, others have different types of members, etc.
The organizations experiences were presented during the interchange, group discussions were held and field visits and meetings scheduled. Video footage was taken for a report on the organizations (on DVD).
