Tipology of the organizations

Based on the profiles of the agriculturalists and the management models of the organizations, a typology was created, which illustrates the types and sub-types of social organizations of urban and peri-urban agricultural producers that were identified.

a)Organizations that are sponsored or supported by external actors, which include:

  • Organizations tied to anti-poverty and social/economic inclusion programs (ASPROVE, Huerteros Network), and
  • Organizations sponsored by other actors (CESAM).
  • b) Organizations that arose and were organized independently based on the interests of the members, including:

  • Traditional/conventional organizations (Duinboeren Platform and the Las Vertientes Cooperative),
  • Ideological / advocacy organizations (APODU, BCHA and BVV).
